HYMN FESTIVAL

> The Lutheran Church of the Covenant invites you to their 60 th
> Anniversary Hymn Festival. It will be on Sunday, June 3, at 3:30 p.m.
> The Lutheran Church of the Covenant, is located at 19000 Libby Road,
> in Maple Heights, Ohio.

> Traditional favorite and contemporary hymns will be presented by the
> United Handbell Choir; the Covenant Brass Quintet; instrumentalists;
> and choirs accompanied by the superb 1980 Schlicker tracker pipe
> organ.
>
> Members of Lutheran Church of the Covenant and next door neighbor, the
> Maple Heights United Methodist Church together make up the United
> Handbell Choir. This experienced group plays challenging repertoire
> under the baton of Director Amy Cook.
> Deborah Zudell Dickey, Organist of Covenant, is a graduate of
> Valparaiso University and the Church Music School of Berlin. Also at
> the console will be the Rev. Karen Ullestad, Pastor of the Lutheran
> Church of the Master, Bedford, and previously a church organist before
> she was ordained.

> Covenant was founded as a congregation in the then fast-growing suburb
> of Maple Heights in 1947 when two previous congregations merged. The
> congregation took off and became a leader in Maple Heights.
>
> Now, celebrating 60 years of service, Covenant works with the Maple
> Heights Schools, the Mayor's Court and Community Re-Entry to assist
> teens who are at-risk to stay in school and graduate. Covenant is also
> a site for Interfaith Hospitality Network which houses homeless
> families in churches and synagogues while they find more permanent
> housing. Covenant members have also been heavily involved in the
> area's Southeast Clergy Hunger Center and Meals on Wheels.
