"Run For Your Wife," a satirical farce by Ray Cooney, opens at Aurora Community Theatre at 8 p.m., Jan. 27 continuing on Fridays and Saturdays through Feb. 18 on the Wells Main Stage of the Aurora Center for the Performing Arts, 115 E. Pioneer Trail.
"Run For Your Wife," tells the story of John Smith, a precisely-scheduled taxi driver, who happily juggles two different lives -- with two different wives -- in two different London neighborhoods. When a mugging lands him in the hospital, comedy takes center stage as Smith tries to disentangle himself from the muddle of too many spouses and houses. Smith's slacker neighbors plus two suspicious police officers help ladle up the laughter for this rollicking evening of fun.
Barbara L. Rhoades directs, with Marianne Paul, producer, Scott Jarvis assistant director/stage manager and Paul Chechak in charge of set construction.
Brad Baker plays non-monagamist John Smith. His two unsuspecting spouses are performed by Lisa Freebairn as Mary Smith and Denise Bernstein as Barbara Smith.
John D. Haller plays the flamboyant, nosy neighbor, Bobby Franklyn with Adam Young as the next-door ne'er do well, Stanley Gardner.
Jerry Schaber tries to unravel the confusion as Det. Sgt. Troughton with help from Russ Duino as Det. Sgt. Porterhouse. Paul Larkin and Scott Pease will alternate the role of reporter.
