36 enter National Honor Society

Thirty-six Bedford High School students, including nine seniors and 27 juniors, were inducted into the National Honor Society in an evening ceremony April 8.

"These students represent the best of Bedford High School in the form of academic achievement, leadership, service and character, which form the foundation for membership in the National Honor Society," said Bedford High School Principal Kevin Gibaldi.

New inductees for 2008 from the Class of 2008 are Quenton Ryan Auzenne, Perise Buckner, Charisse Colston, Adara Coney, Tenechia Lockhart, Jasmine Neloms, Jevon Page, April Palmisano and Stephanie Yarbrough.

And from the Class of 2009: Sherrice Adams, Jessica Alpert, Kiersten Benford, Chelsea Bissler, Jordan Bounds, Tiara Brown, Danielle Danko, Nicolle Estevez, DeVaughn Exum, Kelli Hairston, Rachel Jackson, Ashley Jennings, Rachel Locke, Nina Pollard, Yasmeen Prince, Tara Riedel, Devin Schwab, Ashley Sears, Clarissa Smith, Sunceray Tabler, Danielle Thornton, Samantha Travarca, Hanna Unger, Raven Walker, Ashley White, Noree Wright and Shkirra Wright.

Everett Heard, physical education teacher and coach, gave the keynote address. The Bedford High School Madrigal Singers performed the musical selections "Adoramus Te" and "The Battle of Jerico" under the direction of Gary Kaplan.
