Bedford Heights -- Two 18-year-old men and one 14-year-old boy, all from Cleveland, were charged March 2 with receiving stolen property and fleeing police after police discovered them riding in a stolen car.
According to police, an officer noticed that a headlight was burned out on a 1998 Plymouth Voyager heading westbound on Rockside Road. When police signaled for the driver to pull over, the driver did not stop, but turned eastbound on Aurora Road and then southbound on Perkins Road.
While police were in pursuit, a dispatcher notified them that the vehicle was stolen.
Police said the driver pulled into a parking lot off Perkins, where five males exited the vehicle and started running in different directions. Police called for backup and apprehended three of the males on foot nearby. The other two suspects escaped and the suspects who were arrested said they only knew the other suspects by nicknames and did not know how to contact them.
The two 18-year-olds were taken into custody and the juvenile was turned over to his mother.
