February 28, 2008

Bedford Heights -- A 23-year-old Strongsville man and a 22-year-old Cleveland woman were charged with drug possession Feb. 22 after police say they found a bag of suspected marijuana in the man's car during a traffic stop. Police said they pulled the two over at about 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Libby and Aurora roads because of excessive speed. Police said they detected the smell of burnt marijuana from inside the car. When questioned, the male driver and the female passenger both denied having marijuana, the report stated. But when police said that they were calling for a police dog unit to search the vehicle, the suspects allegedly admitted that they had a bag of marijuana. Police found a bag of suspected marijuana in the car's center console. Value of the marijuana was unknown.

The two suspects were arrested and charged with drug possession.
