science fair, open house

Northfield Baptist Christian School will have a science fair and open house on Feb. 28 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Also presented will be Animal Alley Ministries from 7 to 8 p.m. Based in Ferndale, N.Y., Animal Alley Ministries uses live animals to introduce, demonstrate and reaffirm good Christian character traits. The presentations are geared toward the entire audience. The school is located in Northfield Baptist Church, 311 W. Aurora Road in Sagamore Hills.

Special needs recreation fair set

The 2008 Recreation Fair for Special Needs Children will be Feb. 23 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Michael's Woodside Party Center in Broadview Heights.

Co-sponsored by the Cuyahoga Special Education Service Center/State Support Team 3, The Center for Mental Retardation, and the Northeast Ohio Parent Mentors, the recreation fair provides families with special needs children the opportunity to research camps, various recreation opportunities as well as academic, social, and therapeutic activities.

Live animal demonstrations, courtesy of the Lake Erie Nature and Science Center, will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Now in its 10th year, the fair will include representatives from more than 30 different camps and recreation opportunities, along with other support and social service agencies.
