Holy Spirit Academy, 370 Center Road, Bedford, will celebrated Catholic Schools Week with events scheduled from Jan. 26 through Feb. 2.
They will focus on the theme of "Catholic schools light the way." The school's observance is part of the annual celebration of the nation's 7,800 Catholic schools and their contribution to their communities.
Holy Spirit Academy, which includes children in kindergarten through grade 8, was formed to serve the students and families of the St. Mary, St. Pius X and St. Wenceslas parishes as well as other interested families.
On Jan. 26, Bishop Richard Lennon will celebrate a 4:30 p.m. Liturgy at St. Pius X Church, 400 Center Road, Bedford.
On Jan. 27, Holy Spirit Academy will host an open house from 12:30 to 2 p.m. where prospective students and their families can learn about the school. It will feature a scholastic book fair sponsored by the Holy Spirit Academy PTO.
Jan. 28 is student appreciation day. Students may dress down.
On Jan. 29-30, family members and friends are invited to the school to have lunch with their students. Visitors can bring a lunch or purchase food from the cafeteria. After lunch, students will serve as tour guides and show their guests around the school.
Jan. 31 is school staff appreciation day. Teachers and staff members may dress down.
On Feb. 1, Mass will be conducted at 8:30 a.m. Parents and parishioners are invited to join the students in prayer.
On Feb. 2, a reverse raffle sponsored by the Holy Spirit Academy Athletic Association will be conducted from 7 p.m. to midnight in the school hall.
