Maple Heights -- It looks like Dennis Kucinich, U.S. presidential hopeful and incumbent U.S. House of Representatives District 10 Congressman, will have his hands full as he tries to hold onto the office he was first elected to in 1996.
Kucinich, a Democrat from Cleveland, will facing challengers Joe Cimperman, Barbara Ann Ferris, Thomas O'Grady and Rosemary Palmer in the March 4 primary.
The winner will face the Republican primary winner between Jim Trakas and Jason Warner in the November general election.
Kucinich, the former mayor of Cleveland and a college professor, is a member of the House Committee on Education and Labor, House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, and he is chairman of the Subcommittee on Domestic Policy.
Cimperman, of Cleveland, has been a member of Cleveland City Council since 1997.
Ferris lives in Cleveland and is chairperson of the Board of Directors for Ashley's Hope, a non-profit organization which provides support for families that have children with life-threatening illnesses.
O'Grady is the current mayor of North Olmsted, a former teacher and U.S. Army veteran.
Palmer, a native of Wooster, is an English as a second language specialist, a former newspaper journalist and mother of a U.S. soldier killed in Iraq.
Trakas live in Independence and is a public policy coordinator with Lorain County Community College. He is also a former state representative, former Independence Councilor and former Cuyahoga County GOP chairperson.
Werner, also a Republican, lives in Olmsted Township.
District 10 covers parts of Oakwood and Walton Hills.
