Northeast Ohio's original and longest running home and garden show will mark its 67th year in a new suburban venue.

The Cleveland Home & Garden Show will debut at the Great Lakes Expo Center in Euclid Jan. 22 through 31.

The Great Lakes Expo Center located across from Euclid Square Mall at 1200 Babbitt Road is the new permanent home to the show. Relocating the Home & Garden Show presented by the community hospitals of Cleveland Clinic to the 215,000 square-foot convention facility enabled Cleveland-based Show Producer Expositions, Inc. to extend the show's event dates and modify its traditional February timing.

"We're thrilled to move our flagship event to Euclid," says Chris Fassnacht, president of Expositions, Inc. "Our new home brings so many exciting modifications to this year's show. With free parking and lower admission, the Home & Garden Show is an exceptional value. The city of Euclid has fully embraced the event and I'm confident our guests will too."

For the 2010 event, the Home & Garden Show presented by the community hospitals of Cleveland Clinic will pay tribute to "Wonderful Germany." Centrally located in the heart of Europe, Germany is a green oasis of tranquility. From its enchanting low plains to the high peaks of the Alps, Germany's natural landscapes abound with fascinating beauty. The German parks, palaces and gardens are a nature-inspired reflection of the country's history, politics and prestige. As the world celebrates the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, a tribute to the country without borders is timely, fitting and equally special.

The Home Idea Center will showcase 13 "designer rooms" and the Sherwin-Williams Paint, Wallpaper & Decorating Expo, which includes six "designer walls" and an interior design stage for lectures and presentations:

Gardens

The Home & Garden Show presented by the community hospitals of Cleveland Clinic selected the talented horticulture students from Auburn Career Center in Concord Township to install this year's Entry Feature Garden.

With guidance from Josh Tooker, ASLA from The Pattie Group, the intricate garden will be designed and constructed by 15 Landscape Horticulture students. The high school seniors began by researching German gardens and the country's architectural styles.

German attractions

Guests can celebrate the Wonderful Germany theme in the Oktoberfest Dining Hall. The festive gathering place will capture the culture and traditions of Northeast Ohio's influential German-American population. Executive Caterers will serve a daily smorgasbord of authentic German cuisine.
