The Ohio National Guard has announced that no Ohio guard personnel were injured in the recent mass shooting incident at Fort Hood, Texas.
On Nov. 5, an Army psychiatrist allegedly opened fire on fellow soldiers, killing at least 13 and wounding nearly 30 others.
Units from the Ohio National Guard sometimes process through that base to prepare soldiers for mobilization and/or demobilization. However, no Ohio National Guard units are currently stationed at Fort Hood.
There are 16 Ohio National Guard soldiers stationed at Fort Hood. The Ohio National Guard’s state headquarters has made contact with those soldiers and confirmed that none of them were at the site of the incident.
