Tickets for the popular Polar Express train excursion, which will go on sale Oct. 5, will now be sold through the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad's Web site at www.CVSR.com for the first time.

The Polar Express will be offered from Nov. 18 through Dec. 19 from both the Rockside Station in Independence and the Akron Northside Station. Tickets will be $35 for everyone ages 1 and up for standard seating and $50 for an upgraded ticket on select nights.

"Previously, those interested had to mail in a lottery form and wait to see if they were awarded tickets, up to a month later," said Kelly Steele, director of marketing and sales with CVSR. "Now with the online ticketing, they will know instantly if the day and station they want is available, and if not, what other dates are still open. We are really excited about offering this increased service."

The Polar Express is offered in partnership with Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP) and through a license agreement with Rail Events, Inc. It has been an on-going tradition for families across Northeast Ohio for more than 15 years.

CVSR is dedicated to the preservation of passenger rail transportation in Cuyahoga Valley and the historic Ohio & Erie Canalway. For more information about the railroad, visit www.CVSR.com.
