Muskingum honors local scholars

Muskingum College recently honored some area students with Distinguished Scholar Awards. These are given to students who rank in the top 5 percent of their class.
The First Year Award, a certificate and a bronze key that recognizes scholarship, was given to freshman Bedford resident Lisa E. Sakal, who also received the Freshman Chemistry Achievement Award.
Freshman Cuyahoga Falls resident Jourdon K. Leymon earned the First Year Award and was inducted into the Lambda Sigma Society, a national honor society for second-year students who demonstrate leadership, scholarship, fellowship and the spirit of service.
The Second Year Award, a certificate and a silver key that recognizes scholarship, was given to junior Munroe Falls resident Cassandra A. King, who also earned the Agnes Moorehead Scholarship in Theatre.
