Join us April 16 for the grand reopening and ribbon cutting at Hollywood Tans at 746 E. Aurora Road in Macedonia (corner 82 and S. Bedford Road). Pizza and soft drinks will be served at 11:30 a.m. Come for a tour of this state-of-the-art facility and stay for a free tan. First-timers will receive a free tan and existing tanning package owners will get a one-day upgrade. No appointment necessary. * * * Congratulations to the 2009-10 Nordonia Hills Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, whose members were elected at the April 9 Chamber meeting. This "Friday Night Horseplay" is scheduled for May 15. A race sponsorship is $125 and includes your own horse race, your race name in the program, a free color photo of you with the winning horse, two buffet dinners, plus six beer tickets and two official racing tip sheets. The all-you-can eat dinner buffet, served from 7 to 9 p.m., is only $30 and includes carved beef, honey-roasted chicken, sausage, onion and green pepper ravioli marinara, parsley red-skinned potatoes, California medley vegetables, salad, soft drink, admission, tent seating, parking and a race program. The dessert and coffee station will open at 9 p.m. If your favorite horse isn't racing, try your luck with our 50/50 raffle and "Horse Plop Bingo." Discounts are available for groups of eight. Bring your co-workers and friends. This event is open to the entire Nordonia Hills community. Reservations are required. Please call the Chamber office at 330-467-8956 for more information. * * * Attention, runners, bikers, walkers and volunteers -- Thank you to Chamber President-Elect Eric Daniel, of Thompson Hine LLP, for chairing the Nordonia Hills Duathlon & Family Walk scheduled for June 6. Individuals age 13 and older are encouraged to participate in this run- bike- run event. The race includes a 2.5-mile run, followed by a 10-mile bike ride, then finishing with a second 2.5-mile run. Families can sign up for the Family Walk and get up to four free shirts. The first 300 entrants will receive a T-shirt; all entrants will share after-race refreshments. Packet pick-up and race-day registration begins at 7:15 a.m. We, as a community of businesses, host this event. Many of us all ready show our support by volunteering and sponsoring this Duathlon.
