St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Northfield Center will welcome back the Rev. Norm Douglas, former associate pastor, along with Lawrence Vuillemin, as they bring a Lenten message of centeredness and connectedness to the parish and the Nordonia Hills community. For three consecutive evenings at 7 p.m., beginning March 22, the two founders of Heart to Heart Communications, Inc. in Akron will invite participants to "get centered in an off-centered world, focus on how liturgy is connected to our daily lives" and, on the third evening, explain how to "get to the heart and soul of living, loving and working." On March 23, the focus will be on the Stations of the Cross. The concluding service on March 24 features reflections by various members of the parish on the luminous mysteries of the rosary. The theme of the mission, 'New Wineskins', comes from Matthew 9:17 which states that "new wine is put into fresh wineskins, and so both are preserved." According to Jack Young, mission team leader, the mission is designed to "open our hearts to the power of the Holy Spirit and strengthen us in our vocations as missionaries in the world." All are cordially invited to attend one or all evenings and to bring a friend. St. Barnabas Church is at 9451 Brandywine Road. Call 330-467-7959 for more information. Comments
