Christmas musical
at Faith Fellowship

The full-length musical, "I'll Be Home for Christmas," will be presented Dec. 12 and 13 at 7:30 p.m., and Dec. 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the Faith Fellowship Church Auditorium, 10277 Valley View Road in Macedonia.

Set in the year 1941 at the beginning of America's involvement in World War II, it is the story of a San Francisco family awaiting news from Europe regarding the fate of their husband and father who was stationed there.

Radio programs such as "The Shadow," "The Lone Ranger," and "Bulldog Drummond, P.I." punctuate the evening.

There is even a good-natured musical rivalry between "Frankie" and "Bing" that's sure to surprise and delight.

Tickets are $7 each with special dinner theater tickets available in advance for $25. Dinner theaters are each Saturday evening, beginning at 6 p.m.

Cookie sale
at St. Timothy's

St. Timothy's Episcopal Church is hosting its 20th annual holiday cookie sale Dec. 13 from 9 a.m. to noon. Several hundred packages of cookies will be on sale for personal consumption, or for wonderful holiday gifts. Guests are advised to arrive early for the best selection.

Free dinner, show

The Twinsburg Church of Christ Puppeteers is presenting "Celebrating Jesus," a tribute to Christmas, on Dec. 21. The community is invited to watch the puppets sing, dance, and most importantly, to learn the meaning of Christmas.

Guests are invited to arrive prior to the show for a dinner of rigatoni, meatballs, salad, garlic bread, beverages and a decadent array of desserts including a birthday cake for Jesus.

The dinner will be at 5 p.m. and the show will begin at 6 p.m.

Gospel House plans holiday gatherings

The Gospel House Church, 14707 Alexander Road, Walton Hills will present "An Old Fashioned Christmas" Dec. 19 to 21. There will be a live nativity scene, train villages, the Polar Express, the town of Bethlehem, Christmas tree displays, manger scene displays, hot cocoa and cookies.

As part of the event, there will be a special Christmas service Dec. 21 at 9:30 a.m. featuring favorite Christmas carols.

Traditional Swedish Lucia Fest planned

Every year, the Evangelical Covenant Church of Hudson hosts a holiday program that reflects the denomination's Swedish roots. This year's Swedish Lucia Fest will be Dec. 14 at 4:30 p.m. The evening will include Swedish music from the Children's Chorus and Lucia Adult Choir followed by a traditional Swedish smorgasbord.

The event will also feature a procession with St. Lucia and her attendants. Younger children of the church and community will play "star" children and a mischievous little elf known as "Tomte" will once again make a special appearance with his lantern.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children, ages 4 to 10. Tickets are not required for the Lucia ceremony but are necessary for the smorgasbord. Children age 3 and younger are free if held on the lap, otherwise a children's ticket should be purchased. Child care will be available.

The Lucia Fest or "Festival of Light" celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ.

Boys and girls in grades one to six are invited to participate in the Children's Chorus. Girls in grades two to 12 may also be attendants in the Lucia Court. Children do not need to attend ECCOH or be Swedish to participate. For details and rehearsal times, contact Jackie Evan at 330-603-2345.

Catholic group honors 'Woman of the Year'

The Summit Regional Council of Catholic Women will host its annual Christmas awards luncheon Dec. 10 at noon at Guy's Party Centre, 500 E. Waterloo Road in Akron. Door open at noon, and the event theme is "Mother and Child Light Us the Way."

The Summit Regional Council will honor Carolyn Baird from Holiday Family Parish as the Woman of the Year. The Council also will honor the "Woman of the Year" from 14 of its affiliate organizations.

Destiny plans first Christmas Eve service

Destiny Church is having its first Christmas Eve service Dec. 24 from 7 to 8 p.m. at R.B. Chamberlin Middle School, 10270 Ravenna Road, Twinsburg. The theme will be "Lights of the World."
