MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Before I ramble on, I would like to extend to all of our Chamber members, and families, a most blessed Christmas and a very healthy New Year from my wife, Lois, and myself.
This is my final message as president of the Bedford Chamber of Commerce. My term will end with December and I thank the Board members and all others for your participation and cooperation. I think we have had a good year.
Membership is up and activities are growing. What we do need is the continuing support of the membership. I believe you can look forward to a few changes in the next year, changes I think you will like. The new Board will be challenged with the task of building a bigger and better Bedford Chamber and I believe they will succeed.
A stronger Chamber of Commerce will make all members that much stronger and as we net work among each other we will make our businesses much stronger.
I certainly hope and pray that all our members experience an upswing in their business in 2009.

These inserts will be going out in 50,000 Plain Dealer papers through out the area and will bring many people to downtown Bedford on December 13, 2008 for this special event. What a great way for companies to advertise and to help promote our events. We hope to do more of these in the future. Payroll and Supply Discounts for Members

Storefront Renovation Rebate Program:

Some of you may have gotten mailings for this from the Economic Development Department and some of you have already taken advantage of the program. Through the First Suburbs Development Council in which The City of Bedford is one of the eligible communities of this program there is County money that financially assists Businesses with Exterior renovations, signs, awnings, windows and exterior code violations. Ohio Chamber of Commerce is going to be announcing in November ways members will be able to save money on entertainment, travel, dining, and everyday shopping just by clicking on www.ohiochamber.com. Bedford Historical Society
December 13, 2008- Noon to 4 pm- Our Annual Christmas Open House in conjunction with the Christmas in Bedford Falls festival. The halls will be decked for you and your family. The Town Hall museum will feature Phil Sounder's Christmas Village and Bob Pallat's train layout to add to the festivities. The Golden Tones Choir will be caroling. Story time will be in the old school room. Of course, the world's best bakers will have tasty refreshments.
Save the Date! March 7, 2009 is our annual Reverse Raffle. The main prizes will be $1000 and there will be a cash bar and live music. Ticket cost $45.00 per person. Tickets will be available through the museum or from Trustees.
