Thumbs Down ... To Macedonia city officials for again neglecting the Manor House. This time, Council's 60-day moratorium preventing demolition of the structure has expired without anyone taking action. When reminded about the passed deadline at a recent meeting, the Council president did not know where the city stood on the matter, and the mayor said it had "just fallen through the cracks."
Neglect and failure to maintain the home of the city's first mayor is what made the building a hazard requiring demolition in the first place. With this latest inaction, it seems the only thing the city has managed to preserve is the decades-old tradition of neglecting the structure.
