GERALD A. SUTTON Veteran, Bedford High School graduate Services were July 30 for Gerald Alan Sutton, 76, of Aurora, who died July 27, 2008. Born May 10, 1932, in Cleveland, he was the son of Gertrude and Oliver Sutton. He graduated from Bedford High School in 1950 and attended Kent State University. He was a paramedic in the U.S. Army during the Koran Conflict and earned several commendations, including the Bronze Medal of Honor. He married Barbara Rudd in 1955, and they celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2005. In 1960, he founded A Bee C Service and was president and CEO. The firm later became Service-Tech Corp. Mr. Sutton was active in philanthropic and service organizations such as the YMCA and Rotary Club of Cleveland, for whom he served as honorary president. He enjoyed golfing and was a member of Canterbury Golf Club, where he was director of parking and transportation for several major tournaments. In addition to his wife, survivors include his son Alan (Sue) Sutton; and grandchildren Jaime and Daniel. Burial will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park. PESEK ------ Maple Heights resident Services were July 22 at St. Therese Church for Joseph P. Pesek. Mr. Pesek, 79, of Maple Heights, died July 17, 2008, at Cleveland Clinic. Mr. Pesek was born Oct. 28, 1928, in Cleveland. He was employed as a steelworker. He was the husband of the late Nancy L., nee Chapman; father of John (Joyce) and Timothy; grandfather of six; brother of James and the late John; and son of the late Joseph and Rose Pesek. Burial was at Knollwood Cemetery. Ferfolia Funeral Home of Sagamore Hills handled arrangements. ------ GAIL LONGWELL ------ Walton Hills resident Services were Aug. 1 for Gail Longwell, nee Lawler. Mrs. Longwell, 68, of Walton Hills, died July 28, 2008, at UHHS Bedford Medical Center. She was the wife of William F.; mother of Gretta (Carl) Albert of Macedonia, Matthew of Beaufort, S.C., and Scott (Karen) of Johnson City, Tenn.; grandmother of Matthew, Joseph, Kelsey and Rachel; sister of James Lawler of Hubbard, Ohio, and the late Edward Lawler; and daughter of Leroy and Dorothy Lawler, nee Robinson. Johnson Romito Funeral Home of Bedford handled arrangements. ------ EDWARD THOMAS DOONER SR.------ Veteran, Walton Hills resident Services were July 28 for Edward Thomas Dooner Sr. Mr. Dooner, 84, of Walton Hills, died July 23, 2008, at UHHS Bedford Medical Center. Mr. Dooner was born in Hughestown, Pa. He was employed by Cleveland Pneumatic Tool as an inspector. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was the husband of Dorothy; father of Edward (Rosemarie) of Macedonia and David of Cleveland; grandfather of Thomas E.; brother of Molly (Frank) Somrack of Euclid and the late James (Bea, deceased) of Garfield Heights, Margaret Hoban, Evelyn McNulty, Alice Griffin and Tom; and son of the late Edward F. and Alice Dooner, nee Murphy. Interment was at All Saints Cemetery in Northfield. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice. Johnson Romito Funeral Home of Bedford handled arrangements.
