Avian paradise featured
Discover the secrets of a nearby nature treasure when David Wright, naturalist at Shaker Lakes Nature Center, talks to the Bedford Garden Club May 15 at 7:30 p.m. at Ellenwood Center, 124 Ellenwood Ave., Bedford. Called Dike 14, it is a man-made 88-acre peninsula for migratory birds in northeast Ohio. Music boosters' mattress sale The Bedford High School Music Boosters will sponsor a mattress sale May 10 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the auxiliary gymnasium, 481 Northfield Road, Bedford. Name brand mattresses will be sold at 40 percent to 60 percent off retail prices. Delivery service is available. Proceeds benefit the Bedford High School music program. Bedford Chamber dinner planned The Bedford Chamber of Commerce's annual piggy roast and reverse raffle is May 21 at Catered Elegance, 1160 Broadway Ave., Bedford. Networking is at 6 p.m., dinner is at 7 p.m. and the mini reverse raffle and Chinese raffle begin at 8 p.m. Cost is $25 per person. Reservations are due by May 16. Bedford Heights Chamber event The Bedford Heights Chamber of Commerce's "Business after hours" event is May 15 at 5:30 p.m. at the Winking Lizard Tavern, 25200 Miles Road, Bedford Heights.
