Police News: Electronics stolen from home

Bedford -- A DVD player, two game cartridges and several DVDs and games worth a total of $1,000 were reported missing from a Wandle Avenue home.

The homeowner learned from his son April 24 that someone had broken into his home.

According to a police report, the son arrived at the home at 3 p.m. and found a door open. The window next to the door was shattered.

Police are investigating.

Drug possession

April 22. Police find suspected marijuana in vehicle: Police said they found suspected marijuana in the vehicle of an 18-year-old Bedford Heights man during a traffic stop at Grand Boulevard and Eldred Avenue.

Police said they noticed a marijuana odor coming from inside the car and saw a suspected marijuana seed on the front passenger seat of the car. No one else was in the car.

Police searched the car and found a plastic bag with 3.6 grams of suspected marijuana in the center console. The man was issued a summons for drug abuse. The plastic bag and contents were confiscated.

Theft from auto

April 21. Radio stolen from car: A Northfield Road man reported that someone smashed the passenger window of his 1994 Nissan while it was parked at his apartment. A $300 stereo was missing from the vehicle. Police are investigating.

April 25. Purse stolen from car: A Cleveland woman reported her purse was taken from her unlocked vehicle while it was parked at a Bear Creek Drive apartment complex. She said the purse contained $86, a checkbook and a credit card.

Burglary

April 25. Apartment broken into: A Libby Road woman reported that someone had broken into her apartment. She said she had locked her apartment door when she left in the morning, but when she returned that evening the door was unlocked and her bathroom window was broken out. She said nothing appeared to be missing.
