Police News: Three juveniles charged after police say they damaged a school shedApril 24, 2008
Bedford -- Three boys were arrested April 11 after police say they damaged the door of a shed at Central Primary School. Police said they received a call from a Washington Avenue resident at about 7:30 p.m. that the juveniles were kicking the shed. When police responded they found three teenage juveniles matching the resident's description running southbound through some backyards on Cowles Avenue. An officer said one of the boys thrw a claw hammer in the bushes as he was running. Police caught all three juveniles on Lincoln Boulevard. Police found fresh pry marks on the shed door and damage to the doorknob. The juveniles were charged in juvenile court with criminal damaging, trespassing and fleeing, and one of the juveniles was also charged with possession of criminal tools. After booking, the boys were turned over to their mothers. Theft from auto April 11. Catalytic converters stolen: The owner of a Northfield Road auto repair shop reported that someone stole catalytic converters from four customer cars parked in the shop's lot. Police are investigating. Theft April 16. Beer bottles stolen: An employee at a Broadway Avenue gas station reported that four beer bottles were stolen from the beer cooler. -- Bedford Heights -- Auto theft April 17. Car stolen from parking lot: A Rockside Road woman reported that her $4,500 Dodge Intrepid was stolen overnight from her apartment's parking lot. The woman said the car was locked. There was no sign of shattered glass in the area. Police are investigating. Theft April 11. Man says woman stole ATM card: A man reported that his ATM card was missing from his wallet and he believes a female acquaintance stole it. He said the woman was visiting him at his apartment the night before. When he told her he was going to bed, she said she needed to call for a ride and told him she would lock his door when she left. The man said he woke up the next morning, checked his wallet and noticed the card was gone. He told police that he knew the woman only by her first name. He said he thought she was homeless.
