Maple Heights -- Residents looking for another option when it comes to meats, cheeses and other deli munchies need look no further than Southgate USA.

The Butcher Shop, 21500 Libby Road, opened the doors in its new 4,000-square-feet store Oct. 27.

According to co-owner Rick Gilliam, this is the second of two shops of the same name. Gilliam said there is also a store in Euclid.

"We like this area and we like a busy shopping center and busy neighborhood," Gilliam said. "And we like the thought that there is virtually no competition in the area."

Gilliam said the store, which is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., specializes in "fresh-cut meat."

"Our whole thing is having fresh beef, pork and chicken and giving the customer good value," Gilliam said.

Gilliam said the store also carries fresh produce such as lettuce, tomatoes, potatoes and cabbage.
